In the winter, no young person should have to go without a warm place to stay. Thanks to our partnership with 360 Youth Services, Lutheran Child and Family Services of Illinois is helping youth experiencing homelessness find shelter, safety, and hope.
In 2022, LCFS welcomed 360 Youth Services into our family, expanding how we care for youth and families in need. One of 360’s key services is their housing programs, which provide not only a safe place to sleep but also the guidance and resources young people need to build brighter futures.
Alex* is one of the many lives changed by 360 Youth Services. When family problems left him without a home, Alex was forced to live in his car during the freezing winter. Cold, scared, and unsure of where to turn, he reached out to 360 Youth Services for help.
At 360’s Emergency Shelter, Alex found more than just a warm bed—he found people who truly cared. For the first time in a long time, he felt safe and supported. His case manager stood by him, helping him regain hope and start believing in himself again.
With this encouragement, Alex transitioned into 360’s Transitional Housing Program. In this stable and nurturing environment, he worked hard to complete his high school graduation requirements and began planning for his future.
Through access to educational resources, mentorship, and a safe place to call home, Alex started to rebuild his confidence. The program gave him the strength he needed to stay focused and move forward. Today, Alex is excited about his next steps, knowing he has a community that believes in him and will continue to support his journey.
Together, LCFS and 360 Youth Services are ensuring that young people like Alex have the care, tools, and opportunities they need to overcome life’s toughest challenges. Thank you for your support that makes this life-changing work possible!
